A PRACTICE WITHIN FACILITATION
Trust Circles
A sustained practice, not a one-off training.
Most leadership development stops at the workshop. Trust Circles are structured, ongoing peer groups built for lasting behavioral change rather than a single event.
A Trust Circle is a small group of six to eight peers who meet on a regular cadence over 12 months or more. Developed with facilitator Loes Fokker, and grounded in the peer-forum methodology used by YPO Forums for over forty years — adapted here for leadership teams and organizations.
Why ongoing beats punctual
-
Sustained practice, not a single event. Behavioral change takes repetition; a single workshop rarely produces it.
-
Encourages vulnerability, which normalizes openness over time — including sharing setbacks and failures, not just successes.
-
Safety from the outset. Confidentiality and a defined protocol create a safe space from the first session, not something that has to build up gradually.
-
Can support accountability between sessions, as members carry commitments forward.
How it's structured
-
01
Assessment
A short self-assessment establishes a shared baseline and language for the group.
-
02
Training
Participants are trained on the Circle's format: its principles, protocol, and rules of engagement, so everyone knows how to show up safely from day one.
-
03
The Circle
Monthly facilitated sessions with a consistent structure: check-in, focused exploration, and takeaways. Confidentiality throughout.
Outcomes
A safe space that builds trust and collaboration across the team — strengthening decision-making under complexity, and developing capacity in listening and self-awareness.
Who this is for
Leadership teams committed to a long-term practice. YPO Forums extending an existing peer tradition. Organizations in transition that need a sustained container for the harder conversations.
